Michael P. Schaefer
Executive Director
Michael is the founding Executive Director of CFC. Overseeing CFC's lending and advisory services, he also leads planning and development for the organization. He has both an undergraduate and a graduate degree from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Michael began his career as an investment banker, then served as a financial consultant for national financial advisory firms serving primarily cities, counties, states and nonprofits.
Alan J. Erickson
Director of Client Services
With over 30 years of financial and operational management experience, Al serves as Director of Client Services, overseeing the process of providing quality services and counsel to each CFC client. Prior to joining CFC, Al was the Executive Vice President of a major financial advisory firm for 10 years and was the Director of Finance and Administrative Services for a large Twin Cities suburb for almost 15 years. He has also served as Chair of a parish finance council and has served as President of his parish's pastoral council. Al is a graduate of St. John's University, Collegeville, Minnesota and holds a masters degree from the University of
St. Thomas in St. Paul.
Mike Kratochvil
Financial Consultant
Mike joined Catholic Finance Corporation in 2003. Prior to joining CFC, Mike served for almost 34 years at the Church of St. Odilia, Shoreview, Minnesota as a teacher, principal, and for the last 21 of those years as the parish administrator. During his tenure as parish administrator St. Odilia both built and paid for their new worship space and also expanded their program space. These experiences working in the Church enable Mike to bring a unique perspective to his work as a Financial Consultant as he helps Catholic parishes and schools achieve financial excellence and match their resources with their plans for mission and ministry. Mike is frequently called upon by his fellow administrators for his advice or observations on the issues faced by those serving in the ministry of administration
Phil Boelter
Financial Consultant
Phil brings an understanding of both finance and ministry to clients seeking financial advice and assistance with building projects and operational planning. Prior to joining CFC, Phil served as Director of the Archbishop's Annual Catholic Appeal for the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis. Before that, he worked for seven years as a business banker in the Twin Cities, assisting closely-held businesses with lending and other finance needs. Phil has a Master of Divinity degree from Luther Northwestern Seminary and began his career as a Lutheran pastor. He entered the Catholic Church following post-graduate study at the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana.
Dorfha Vang
Associate Financial Consultant
Dorfha joined CFC in 2007. Her primary responsibilities include providing analytical support to the Financial Consultants, creating and maintaining our computerized financial models, assisting with client needs, and monitoring CFC's loan portfolio. Dorfha comes to us from a major financial advisory firm where she was a project manager and financial analyst for six years. Prior to that, Dorfha spent seven years in customer service for a large insurance firm. Dorfha holds a BA in Business Management from Bethel University.
