With collectively over 100 years of broad and substantive staff experience in loan underwriting, capital financing and parish operations, our staff will guide you through the many steps involved with planning and implementing a building project.

Michael P. Schaefer

Michael P. Schaefer
Executive Director
Michael has been the Executive Director of CFC since it was founded in 2000. He oversees CFC's lending and advisory services, as well as planning and development for the organization. He has both an undergraduate and a graduate degree from Marquette University, a Jesuit school in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Michael began his career as an investment banker. He was also a financial consultant for national financial advisory firms serving primarily cities, counties, states and nonprofits.

Alan Erickson

Alan J. Erickson
Director of Client Services
Al guides clients through the building process, from determining project affordability to securing financing. He also assists parishes and schools with budgeting, planning and debt management. Prior to joining CFC, Al was an Executive Vice President of a financial advisory firm for ten years and was the Director of Finance and Administrative Services of a Twin Cities suburb for almost 15 years. He is a graduate of St. John's University, Collegeville, Minnesota and holds a masters degree from the University of St. Thomas.

Mike Kratochvil

Mike Kratochvil
Financial Consultant
Mike provides financial advice and lending assistance on building projects and also specializes in cash flow management, budgeting and operational issues for parishes and schools. Mike joined CFC after 34 years at The Church of St. Odilia, Shoreview, where he was a teacher, principal and, for the last 21 years, the parish business administrator. Mike holds both a masters and a bachelors degree from the University of St. Thomas. His areas of expertise include personnel, finance, facilities and planning.

Phil Boelter

Phil Boelter
Financial Consultant
Phil brings an understanding of both finance and ministry to clients seeking financial advice and assistance with building projects and operational planning. Phil most recently served as Director of the Archbishop's Annual Catholic Appeal for the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis. Prior to that, he worked for seven years as a business banker in the Twin Cities, assisting closely-held businesses with lending and other finance needs. Phil has a Master of Divinity degree from Luther Northwestern Seminary and began his career as a Lutheran pastor. He entered the Catholic Church following post-graduate study at the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana.
