Arranging Financing: Direct Loans, Loan Collateralization
Whether you are seeking a direct loan from CFC or collateralization for a loan, we will use the financial information you provide us to analyze and "score" your request on the basis of our loan underwriting criteria. The score gives us an indication of your credit quality and the level of review required by our Board to authorize staff to proceed.
Upon approval, we'll begin to draft the loan documents, which will include covenants and reporting requirements. All of these will be reviewed with you to both explain the loan provisions and get your input. Once we've reached agreement with you on the final documents, a closing date will be set. Upon closing, you will receive the funds.
Because our process for helping to arrange financing for you is similar to a bank's, be sure to allow adequate time if you're seeking a loan or collateralization from CFC. Most arrangements take 45 to 90 days from when you first contact us.
